Good, solid product appropriate for oily hair

"I am writing this review after using one bar from start to finish; I don't remember how long it lasted but I think it was close to 2 months. My hair is long, fine and oily at the roots. This is a good product; it's hard for me to find shampoos that leave my hair feeling completely clean. Lathers very well (almost out of control well) and left me with good volume once my hair dried, volume that extends root to tip. I did use a separate conditioner, but I would use that with any shampoo. This shampoo bar has a slightly gritty texture (you can feel it in the bar itself) that disappears when you lather it up; I think it's the nettle powder, one of the ingredients. I've moved on to testing a different shampoo bar but I would return to this one in the future for long-term use."

Good alternative to liquids

"I have always shied away from bar shampoo because I liken it to bar soap. (I don’t like bar soap due to the rough film it leaves on my skin.) However, I decided to try this product for Plastic-Free July and I was surprised to really like it. It doesn’t leave any filmy feeling in my hair. It smells good—it’s a dry woody vetiver-y fragrance that I really like (not strong after hair dries, which I also like). I have medium length hair, and it suds up amazingly well, making it easy to tell if it’s evenly distributed through my hair. I still use a conditioner though."

first shampoo bar

"This is my first go at shampoo bars. I’ve washed with it 4 times. My hair is long and fine, generally oily at the scalp and dry at the ends in winter. The lather is creamy, and the scent is a pleasant herbal and evergreen. It washes out easily leaving a squeaky clean. The scent is subtle after drying, which is my preference. My hair has a soft sheen and good volume. The ends are a bit dry, plots of staticky fly-aways in dry winter air. Conditioning the ends once a week has helped. In the warmer, more humid months, I think this would be a complete shampoo and conditioner. Overall, I’m happy, and less plastic is always appreciated."

Really like this!

"I wasn’t sure what to expect from a shampoo/conditioner bar. I have a lot of hair, but it’s fine. My hair is super full and really soft after shampooing and air drying. My hair has never been this full after air drying! While I do not wash my hair every day (it pulls the color from my hair if I do), I find I can go a day or two longer than usual between washes after using Shambar. I’m trying the hydrating formula next!"
